Once a year, your pet should be give a full physical examination by a veterinarian. A comprehensive wellness examination gives our doctors the chance to evaluate your pet's overall health and to detect problems before they turn into serious illnesses. Because most pets age more quickly than people do, it is important that your pet be examined at least once a year. Based on your pet's age and examination findings, their annual vaccinations can be updated at this time. Laboratory diagnostics such as a blood profile, complete blood cell count, heartworm testing and intestinal parasite evaluation are routinely performed as well at this time. Based on your pet's physical examination and utilizing the results of the diagnostic procedures, our medical staff can detect various problems, including the early signs of disease such as diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid disease, or obesity.

If you have any previous medical records feel free to bring them with you. This information can be beneficial to our doctors when compiling a complete medical history of your pet. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including vaccination history, previous surgeries, chronic medical problems, as well as any medications currently being given.
